Our produce.
From caulis to zucchinis, we’ve got a great little bunch of certified organic veggies for you to enjoy. They’re grown the way they used to be so they taste the way they should. You’ll find them in most really good independent supermarkets and green grocers around Australia. (And if your local grocer doesn’t have them, ask them if they can get them in and we’ll do our best to make it happen so you don’t have to miss out on Australia’s yummiest certified organic veggies.)
Cabbage
Some people think I’ve got a big head, but I’m really quite down to earth and fit into all sorts of situations. I’ve also been called ‘dense’ but while I don’t like to brag, I’m pretty popular all over the world. If you give me a try, I’ll show you why. I’ll bring a while lot of goodness to your day.
Availability: January – December

Capsicum
I get called all sorts of weird things in other parts of the world, (like ‘bell peppers’!), but here in Australia I’m a good old ‘capsicum’. Technically I’m actually a berry, but let’s not get caught up in details. I’ve been used in cooking for thousands of years, and I’ll brighten up most meals as well as deliver a nice little vitamin fix.
Peak Availability: January – June
Low season: July – October and December

Cauliflower
My rellies are cabbage and broccoli, but I like to do my own thing and think I’ve got a lot to offer. I’m quite protective by nature, and my antioxidants will help keep you safe from free radicals. If you’re looking for a bit of colour in your life, you’ll find me in a pretty cool purple, a nice yellow-green, or if you’re looking to keep things simple, the more traditional white. (I prefer to say it’s ‘ivory’ because it sounds a bit more fancy.)
Availability: January – December

Celery
I quite often get judged as being not that exciting, but I’m really quite sweet and crispy, and have excellent taste. In days gone by I was known as the ‘plant of the moon’ and ooh ah, doesn’t that sound way more exotic than ‘celery’? Probably should have stuck with that and would have been way more popular. As it is, don’t be fooled by the name, I’m full of natural goodness and very low in calories to help keep you healthy.
Availability: January – December

Chilli
Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? I’m here to spice things up, but don’t worry, I’ll keep things fairly mild. I’m sure my reputation precedes me, but rest assured I have a slightly fiery personality but I’m not too hot to handle. I’ll just add a bit of va va voom to your favourite meals.
Peak Availability: January – June
Low season: July – October and December

Cucumber
It’s difficult to be modest when the saying ‘cool as cucumber’ is literally about me. Bite me, slice me, dip me, snack on me, add me to salads, I’m here for it – skin and all. (Definitely keep my skin on if you can because some of the best nutrients are in there!) Choose between Lebanese or mini-me!
Peak Availability: November – May
Low season: June – October

Onions
I like to think I’m pretty versatile and am into most things. Indian is a favourite, a good stir fry, and of course pizza. Yummo. A lot of people comment on my lovely, golden brown skin, but I’m more than just my exterior, and when you peel back the layers I definitely feel like I’ve got a lot to offer. I know to some people, we’re all just onions, but I’m the sweet one in the family, and I won’t make you cry or leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Peak Availability: January – September
Low season: October. December.

Potatoes
When people say I’m a ‘starchy tuber’, it doesn’t sound overly flattering, does it? The truth is, I’m a super important part of the world’s food supply, so call me what you want. My friends often call me ‘spud’ and I’m fine if you want to call me that as well.
Desiree
The first thing you’ll notice about me is my beautiful, dark red peel. But my a-peel doesn’t stop there. My lovely, firm, yellow flesh and delicate aroma makes me especially delicious. I’ve also got some serious staying power and will keep well for longer, including when I’ve already been cut – I’ll resist darkening so I look as good as I taste.

Dutch Cream
Long live the Queen of Potatoes! That’s me! You might not know it to look at me but I’m basically potato royalty with my yellow flesh, thin skin, and rich, buttery taste. I’m delicious boiled, roasted and baked, and I make a gorgeous mash.

Sebago
If you’re looking for an all-rounder, here I am! My white flesh and skin, and medium starch content make me a classic all-purpose ‘tater, no matter what you have in mind. Boil me, mash me, bake me, roast me, or chop me up and it’s chip time!

Peak Availability: December – July
Low season: August
Snow peas
Some people think my friend and I are like two peas in a pod, because, well, we are! We’re two snow peas in a pod actually. And although we quite like the snow, (snowboarding is a bit of a fave), we’re good all year round in all sorts of salads and recipes – I mean, who doesn’t love a good stir fry? We’ve also got more Vitamin C than other peas, as John Lennon once sang, give snow peas a chance.
Peak Availability: January – December

Tomato
You say ‘tomato’, I say ‘me’! However you say it, there’s a fair chance you know exactly who I am because I’m kind of a big deal and a bit of an A-lister.
Cherry Roma

Roma
I don’t really like being told I’m egg shaped, but hey, I am, so I’ll roll with it. I’ve got smooth, bright red skin, and very few seeds, high sugar and acid levels, which makes me perfect for cooking down into a sauce, paste or even drying. So let’s say I’m a bit saucy.

Gourmet Round
I was originally named ‘the love apple’ and, well, people love me. Obviously. How could they not? I’m big, round, bright and fruity. I add loads of flavour to everything from appetisers and salads to slow-cooked meals, if I do say so myself. And I do.

Peak Availability: November – May
Low season: June – October
Zucchini
My family is originally from Central and South America, but I’m from Italy and am more than happy right here in Australia. I’m a big softy at heart, especially when I’ve been steamed or boiled. I’m also up for a bit of a grill or a BBQ and don’t mind getting stuffed. I’m a delicate flavour, and these days I’m more than happy if you want to spiral me as an alternative to noodles or pasta. What can I say, I’m adaptable and versatile.
