Our values.
Plenty have things have changed over the years, many of them for the better. But at Eldridge Farms, our biggest achievement is doing things the way we used to, so your food tastes like it’s supposed to.
We’ve been around for four generations and we’ve been doing genuine, certified ‘organic’ since well before it was in fashion – using no synthetic chemicals, artificial fertilisers or genetically modified organisms. Not because it’s ‘cool’, but because we genuinely believe it tastes better, and feels better knowing what you are, and aren’t, putting in to your body.
Our promise.
Doing the right thing by the environment and our customers is important to us. Really important.
It’s so important we’re prepared to go the extra mile to make sure our certified organic vegetables meet our exceptional quality standards because ultimately, we believe this not only supports a healthier life, but a better planet.
For us, it’s all about getting back the basics of growing fresh, fully certified, organically grown veggies for people like you all across Australia, because we know veggies grown this way are full of flavour and better for you.
That’s our promise to you.
And within our company, we promise to remain humble, to deserve your trust, and to stay progressive and true to our mission. To treat our employees well and to grow sustainably.
If you’re a customer, you may be less interested in that bit, but we think it’s always nice to know what kind of company you’re buying your things from, and that’s what kind of company we are.
What is organic?
Everyone’s talking about ‘organic’, and to be completely honest, there’s some fairly flexible interpretations out there. So let’s cut to the chase: if the product you’re looking at doesn’t have the ‘Australian Organic’ symbol on there, there’s probably a reason for it. And that reason is probably that it isn’t genuinely organic. Anyone can use the word ‘organic’, but not anyone can use the symbol that proves you’ve met the Australian Certified Organic standards.
When you see that symbol, you know what you’re getting is the real deal. Genuine, organic, as certified by official people, holding us to official standards, and auditing us regularly to make sure we continue to meet those standards. Not just someone who thinks using the word ‘organic’ on their pack will sound nice.
Those standards includes making sure our products are:
- Sustainable and regenerative
- Free of GMOs
- Free from harmful or synthetic chemicals
- Ethically sourced
Remember, ‘organic’ is not the same as ‘certified organic’!
Look for the bud symbol so you know what you’re buying and can do so with confidence.
